Middle Peace is a group of students of all backgrounds that is committed to encouraging our community to learn about the multiple perspectives of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to promoting respectful dialogue between both sides.

Goals

  • The creation of an environment of mutual understanding and respect where opposing views about the conflict can be shared without fear of retribution, in order to engage in productive discussion and dialogue.
  • The presentation of a broad and inclusive set of views that span the
spectrum of possible perspectives to this conflict, both from the Israeli side as well as from the Palestinian side, with the intent of remaining neutral in our support of a particular perspective in order to encourage individuals to form their own well-informed opinions.
  • The presentation of the human dimension of the conflict, as reflected by the personal stories and backgrounds of group members and invited speakers and guests.

The group strongly believes that progress in our community with regards to this conflict can only be achieved through the creation of a forum where people are exposed to opinions differing from their own, and by extension, aspires to become a bridge between different individuals and organizations interested in the conflict, in the hopes of achieving nonviolent solution to the conflict.
